The Industry division is planning to install a heat recovery unit, Automotive has full production capacity and Plastic is expanding production and warehouses.
Industry
The first major project that we will implement is the installation of a heat recovery unit on the C3 plant. With this technology we should use up to 70% of the waste heat that is currently unused. The project will be implemented in June this year. After verifying the functionality, we are also preparing recuperation on C1,2.
In terms of production workload, despite the drop in volumes at the beginning of the year, we have reached a stage where our main customer IFE has announced the transfer of several projects from the in-house paint shop to us at COLOR. This is an increase in production of around 30%, which will be a challenge not only for the production department but also for all the supporting departments. In the current situation, we must take advantage of this opportunity and make every effort to ensure a smooth start-up of the projects and to meet the required deadlines. This is an "investment" for us for the future, which will secure our work for the next years.
Automotive
The main driver of the Czech economic recovery in the first quarter of 2023 was again the automotive industry, which was very positive for us. It brought our company greater stability and opened up opportunities for us in the form of new investment projects.
We managed to win our first customer from a completely different sector than the automotive industry, namely bicycle mobility. This is a huge business and production potential for our company in the near future because of the large volumes for both painting and moulding. We can proudly say that we already have our first official project at home for painting electric bike frames.
Furthermore, this year we implemented a new internal IT system, which has been a lot of work and is still being fine-tuned. A big thank you to everyone for that!
Plastic
Due to the full production capacity until the end of 2025, we had to order another injection moulding machine with a clamping force of 700T. This gives us not only job security, but also changes in the layout of the production hall, a reduction in production space and the associated already limited storage space. We are urgently looking to expand these and hope to do so this year.
We have successfully completed the customer audits and defended the VDA 6.1 audit. We also have to implement TISAX (customer data protection system), another automotive requirement that will take a lot of time, especially in IT.
